Recently, on a chilly and bright fall afternoon, attendees from Cancer Lifeline’s Metastatic Cancer Support Group participated in our first ever Equine Facilitated Support Workshop. The Little Bit Therapeutic Riding staff and volunteers spent time educating attendees on the types of behaviors horses exhibit and how they can read and respond to emotion and energy – just like humans do. From grooming to walking in the arena, attendees spent their afternoon developing trust and connection with the horses. A treasured moment was when attendees got to sit in the stable with their horse at the end of their time in the arena, reflecting on the incredible impact that horses can have on our lives in even just a short amount of time.
This workshop focused on the many ways in which making connections with horses can positively impact our health. Relief from stress, anxiety, grief – just a few ways that the attendees benefited from this opportunity. The Little Bit staff and volunteers were professional, passionate and accommodating – thank YOU for your commitment to this incredible work!
Here’s a thank you from an attendee:
“How can we thank you enough for the wonderful experience with the beautiful horses? Thank you for making it possible and sharing it with us.”
