[ONLINE] NEW Creative Outlets for Families with Children & Adolescents whose Parent Has Cancer

Date(s) - January 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
10:00 am - 11:00 am

[ONLINE] EvergreenHealth, Halvorson Cancer Center Zoom
12040 NE 128th Street
Kirkland, WA 98034

Parents living with cancer and their children and young adolescents ages 6-12 are invited to join one or several of these creative expression workshops, each with a theme designed to support family rituals, bonds, and communication while coping with a diagnosis in the family. These short workshops allow for children and early adolescents to use their creativity to communicate in ways that can surprise and help the adults in their lives understand what they are experiencing. Likewise, engaging in a form of creative play can produce insights for the parents and caregivers about the needs and hopes of the family during the challenges they face. No prior artistic or other experience is needed — just come to join the fun of exploring together what the family needs to express.

All members of the family are encouraged to attend; at least one parent must be present. To receive art supplies to support the experience, signup must occur at least one week in advance. Please send an email to Pamela Krueger at pkrueger@cancerlifeline.org or call 206-832-1271 before registering, letting her know the names and ages of the family members who will attend. She can also answer any questions you have about this workshop series.

Dates: January 23, February 27, March 27, April 24 from 10am-11am
