Client DEI, Nondiscrimination, and Grievance Policy
Cancer Lifeline Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
Cancer Lifeline is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. We strive to create an environment where everyone is respected, valued, and appreciated regardless of their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, abilities, disabilities, or any other factor. We are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space where everyone can be their authentic selves and thrive.
Cancer Lifeline Nondiscrimination Policy
Cancer Lifeline does not unlawfully discriminate internally (in its administrative and program operations) or externally (in provision of services) on the basis of race, political orientation, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ethnicity, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, mental or physical disability, or any other status prohibited by applicable law.
Grievance Procedure
We recognize that in any environment in which people interact regularly, conflicts, complaints, and concerns may arise. These issues may be between individuals, with staff, or regarding specific policies or rules. This grievance procedure is in place to ensure you have a process to formally log your complaint or concern and be heard and have an opportunity for resolution. You have the right to begin the Grievance Procedure if you believe that any policy has been unfairly applied to you, or that you have been mistreated by anyone professionally associated with the organization. All grievances should be brought to the attention of the Program Director first. This is an informal process. Please call our main line number (1-206-297-2100) and ask to speak to the Program Director. If, after following the above step, you feel there is no resolution to your grievance, a meeting can be requested, in writing, with the Executive Director. Email the request for a meeting within 3 days after the meeting with the Program Director. The Executive Director will make the final decision on how the grievance will be resolved. The final decision will be given both verbally and in writing.
