Health Disparities in Hematologic Cancers for People of Color Sponsored by Cancer Lifeline
July 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PDT
This presentation will explore the health disparities that affect people diagnosed with blood cancers, including multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and leukemia. Participants will learn about documented differences in incidence, diagnosis, and access to treatment within BIPOC communities, and how implicit bias in healthcare can influence patient experiences and outcomes. The session will also focus on practical strategies for self-advocacy, helping attendees feel more empowered to ask questions, communicate concerns, and navigate the healthcare system with confidence.
