Writing the Story Only You Can Tell: A Three-Part Memoir Writing Workshop Sponsored by Valley Medical Center
Every life is a collection of stories waiting to be discovered. Some are joyful, some heartbreaking, and many are far more meaningful than we realize until we pause to write them down. It is often through this process that we can begin to make sense of difficult experiences, reconnect with forgotten parts of ourselves, celebrate resilience, and leave a legacy for those we love. A memoir cannot be written in three weeks, but this three-part workshop will launch your journey, whether you plan to write a full memoir or simply explore and reflect for your own individual purpose.
Each session will focus on one of three powerful themes:
1. Place — Where your life began and unfolded over the years.
2. People — Who shaped the person you have become.
3. Problems — The challenges you faced and, especially, those that transformed you.
Each session combines inspiration poetry, memorable quotations, discussion about craft, and carefully designed prompts to help you seek, sift, and possibly share the golden nuggets of your life.
